  • 120 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 g dark brown sugar
  • 225 g granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs (room temperature)
  • 225 g sour cream (room temperature)
  • 85 g butter (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar (for apples)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for apples)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for cake)
  • 340 g all-purpose flour (for cake)
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 40 g vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 125 g powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp sour cream (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 12 tsp water (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. For the crumb topping, combine dark brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and butter until crumbly.
  4. In another bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream and vegetable oil and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon; fold gently into the wet ingredients.
  6. Layer half the batter in the pan, followed by half the apples and crumbs; repeat layers.
  7. Bake for about 70 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
  8. Whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over slices before serving.
