Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • For icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and milk

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top for 10-15 minutes until foamy.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil to form a sticky dough.
  3. 3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours for the first rise.
  4. 4. Grease a baking pan and pour melted butter into it. Deflate the dough slightly, place it in the pan, cover it again, and let it rise for another 1.5 to 2 hours until puffy.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Dimple the surface of the dough with wet fingers and drizzle with a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and browned butter.
  6. 6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling briefly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
