  • 5 medium apples, sliced between 1/8" and 1/4" thick
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. Toss apple slices with lemon juice and spice mixture in a bowl.
  3. For the crust, mix melted butter with flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the prepared pan as a base; layer apple filling on top and sprinkle remaining crust mixture over it.
  5. Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown; cool before slicing.
  6. Drizzle with homemade salted caramel sauce before serving.
