  • Optional: ½ cup grated cheese (Gruyère, cheddar), 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the onions by heating olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage with cooled caramelized onions. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper. Add optional ingredients if desired.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
